Let’s break it down.
I’m feelin’ Wale and Hamilton, they are something new and progressive to hip-hop. The fact is that Curren$y and Gunz are the two best on those covers, and Gunz is not a freshman at all, I have mixtapes of his from when he was 13. I like Mickey Factz shit, although I must admit I have only recently heard of him. I dunno much about Blu, and B.oB isnt really what I liek to listen to, he seems mad industry. Ace Hood and Cudi are the two most industry rappers of the bunch, but they have proven that they can make big singles and will most likely, with the help of Khaled and the Aphiliates, become big name stars. Can’t say what the future holds for Asher Roth, he seems to have type-casted himself as this college blunt-smoking party boy and will prolly never break that mold, nor shake Eminem comparisons and for that I feel bad for him. The fact is that there is little market out there for white rappers, as they are often viewed as cheesy gimmicks. All in all, I wish all 10 of these artists the best of luck with their careers, and shake my head at the fact that artists like Mack Maine, Drake and Serius Jones were overlooked.
