I think this is an important point to keep in mind. I was reading about this over at HHDX earlier today, and some people are disappointed that their “hip-hop president” “sold out” by distancing himself from Luda.

I wonder how many of these people are actually registered voters who have researched the political issues at stake and will actually go to the polls to vote, and how many of them are just sitting back, feeling good because there is a black candidate running, then not actually vote and talk about how fucked up it is if he doesn’t win the election.

There are certainly more important issues at stake than Barack’s hip-hop credibility.

So, I listened to “Politics” and I don’t see much of a big deal with the song myself personally. The song is like a minute and a half long and it was a mixtape cut, meaning Luda never planned for all of the masses to hear it. I think it was a bad move for Obama’s campaign to draw attention to the record, personally. I hadn’t heard the song until they mentioned it. The snub he took at McCain wasn’t really a snub, it was just a metaphor, the snub at Bush isn’t even as bad as the stuff they say about him on Mad TV. The only bad move I saw was calling Hilary Clinton a “bitch”. Maybe Obama’s team is just overreacting due to all of these lame attacks McCain’s been sending his way.

Its kinda funny to me that the media even bit down so hard on the song. Its not really even a song, and it damn sure wasn’t spinnin on no radio stations I listen to.
