I guess i saved this one boys life when seen him in the streets, and i didn’t beat him up ( i was with my mother and grandmother.) But seriously DMX was one of the only four NY rappers i liked. JayZ, Ja Rule, and Black Star the other 3.

I would like, just one day, for an artist to admit, in retrospect, maybe THEIR shit was not on point. Those drugs had this cat thinking he was still nice and that barking on every song was the move. NOT! DMX was once one of the most lyrical artist in the game. He outshined everyone on most of the songs he did for his or THEIR (Jay Z, Ma$e, The LOX) albums. I still remember the disappointment that his line “Jigga, my nigga, rhyme all night” wasn’t the the hook to the Swizz Beats produced “Jigga, My Nigga” instead of that annoying female singing hook. How sick would that have been? DMX ran NY and a large part of the country. Where did that lyricism go and why doesn’t he realize it is missing? I loved his first two albums. He killed the LOX on his first record to make the radio. Until he takes his game back to the level he was before, I don’t care what label he goes to. Be humble, listen to your first two discs and go back there. I don’t need anymore barking on a third of the album. We need the old, but new and improved DMX. That is the cat I loved in the beginning. Once that happens then you can “Get At Me Dog”.

Gees Dat Dude made a good point, from what I have perceived in the industry over the years; if a label does not think an artist is worth the trouble of keeping signed (Especially with all of the DMX drama in the news) they would most likely cut their losses and focus on the stable of developing and consistently marketable and successful artists they have. Sony called X and gave X a deal that’s very promising now it’s August of 2006 I hate to say it but the Dog is back and his bark isn’t bite sure DMX wasn’t the most lyrical cat but I give the man respect he stay true to himself in his music and is trying to conquer his inner demons he’s only human. “Year of The Dog….Again” is now in stores DMX’s streak of number 1 album’s are officially over it debuted number 2 which is still good. the album is good and it’s rival’s even his first album “It’s Dark & Hell is Hot” Lord Give Me a Sign is a very powerful song and yes I am a spiritual guy but DMX’s message isn’t jus garbage the man has something to say he isn’t a fake wannabe rapper X is someone who does whut he does for love and not jus money like so many rappers out today. other tracks on the album that are great are “Blown Away” “Goodbye” “Life is My Song” “We in Here (Classic DMX style)” and “Come Thru” The way hip hop is DMX won’t even reclaim his fame he had for many reasons because no one want the truth anymore it’s about money, sex, bling & partying. it isn’t X’s fault because music has changed DMX is someone who don’t fit the corporate mold this is why he is need in the hood, ghetto, even the surburbs. it took him 13 years to even get a record deal before “It’s Dark & hell is Hot” X can’t be what we want him to be X has to be what God wants him to be.
