They aren’t called Southern Gentlemen for nothing.

Ludacris hosted his 5th annual Ludacris Foundation Dinner recently where the rapper helped to raise awareness, and dollars, in the name of HIV and AIDS research. Among those in attendance at the posh event, hosted at the Foundry at Puritan Mill in Atlanta with the help of BDC World, were Disturbing Tha Peace head Chaka Zulu, Ciara, D-Nice, Cee-Lo, rocker Tommy Lee, Magic Johnson, XXL Editor-In-Chief Datwon Thomas, and KING Editor-In-Chief Jermaine Hall.

Singer Ne-Yo exhibited his fair share of chivalry, as well. The 404 transplant hosted a brunch earlier this month for 50 single and foster mothers from the Atlanta metro area. The brunch was set to raise awareness for the need to reform foster car systems in the United States.

“My efforts are minor what should be done,” Ne-Yo explained to the Associated Press. “We’re in a day and age where people care about themselves and no one else. That’s the outlook a lot of people have. But it is everybody’s responsibility to make sure that our future, which is these kids, are brought up the right way.”-XXL staff.
