If he’s so lame (which he isn’t), and nobody cares about him or his music. Then why did you click the link and watch he interview? Why did you even bother to comment? You know, it’s always those that claim to not feel these artist, that have the most to say about them. This is to all the people, who say I’m not feeling him, he’s wack, ect….why are the haters filling up the comments section?

    SOULJA BOY?
TAKE TIME AND LISTEN TO DUDES MIXTAPES AND/OR EARLIER STUFF (CHECK ‘COLOR PURPLE’) BEFORE YOU JUDGE…HE WAS ON THE GUN AND GANGSTA SHIT BEFORE CAUSE THATS WHERE HE WAS IN THAT TIME IN HIS LIFE, I BELIEVE HE SPITS FROM EXPERIENCE AND HAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO OFFER THE KIDS WHO WORSHIP THE ‘MAKE IT RAIN’ OR WHATEVER ‘REGULAR’ RAPPERS ARE DOING RIGHT NOW.
DUDES NICE WITH THE WORDPLAY TOO, NO GIMMICKS AND BULLSHIT, JUST STRAIGHT SKILLZ WITH TIGHT BEATS, WHAT ELSE YOU NEED? A DANCE MOVE???
PS, I DONT KNOW THIS CAT, DONT WORK FOR THE LABEL, OR STREET TEAM, JUST SOMEONE WHO LIKES QUALITY HIP HOP…

He is a garbage, who raps on mediocre Just Blaze rejects/abortions i.e. beats that were discarded by Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel etc.

The guy is a total joke, and will probably be working on some building site, or sweeping the streets in a few months time, after he got dropped from Atlantic.

Saigon is on that list of the top 5 wackest rappers in hip-hop right now.

    1. Saigon
    2. Tru Life
    3. Fat Hoe (Joe, I mean)
    4. Slim Thug
    5. Mike Jones

    DJ Derek says:

I think Saigon is over-rated, and suffers from boring repetitious Just Blaze beats.

Everyone knows that Just Blaze is clearly past his best.

Just Blaze’s problem is that he is not musically adept and does not know how to compose original songs, therefore once he runs out of soul songs to sample, his music drys up and sounds forced.

Saigon would have a much better chance of selling if he got some harder hitting producers, like Collipark, Nitti, Polow, Lil Jon, Three Six (Juicy J and Dj Paul)- real producers who don’t sample.

Get rid of the washed up Just Blaze.

Entourage might give Saigon a nice boost in marketing and sales. He’s supposed to be on the next season which coincidentally airs right around when his album is dropping. Actually, that’s probably not a coincidence at all. Anyway, the T.I.’s might be more interested in promoting a dude who is on a successful TV show. We’ll see. I’ll be interested in hearing his album, though. I liked a lot of his mixtape shit, and he seems like a intelligent dude, so hopefully he can blow up and better represent hip hop than most of these walking minstel shows do now.

    T-Rocka says:

Maybe that’s your problem. You’re too busy paying attention to and looking at the negative and bad press, all the stuff that really doesn’t even matter. Rather than looking at what the brotha is doing correctly. You don’t want to hear about his In Arms Reach program, and all the community work he’s doing. You don’t listen to homie’s music. You’re too busy closing your ears to him, and hating on him yourself, to find out what he’s really about.

He’s not the only one that’s said Hip Hop is garbage right now. New Yorkers aren’t the only ones that say it either. Everybody’s been saying that for years now. It’s not like it’s a lie, it’s the truth. Hip Hop is garbage right now. If you get offended by that statement, then you’re contributing to the garbage that’s being forced down our throats by the industry. Simple as that.

I’m so tired of eevrybody saying….make a hit record. You can have a hit record. It doesn’t mean you’re going to go plat because you do. Look at all the so called rappers that have numbers 1’s all across the board right now. They have a hit single, yet they flop like a fish out of water when that album drops. Why is that? But somebody like Saigon with no album out, is getting by better than they are. What does that tell you? Exactly like I thought.

Moving on. I’m glad he shed some light on the Atlantic Records situation, because everybody was like, how come his album ain’t out. Clearly it ain’t his fault. Anyway, I don’t care if it’s 2008 or 2028, that’s an automatic cop for me. Because I nkow what dude is capable of musically.

    Good says:

Everyone thinks they’re experts and knows the music industry. Stop talking about labels budgets, business, marketing, anything with numbers, sales, contracts….none of that cuz you have no clue what situation anyone is in and how much money they make.
Also a hot single isn’t always some club bopping shit. The last few years thats what anyone think is a hot single. Pain in my life was a Great Single. I saw that song all over the place when it was hot so don’t front. Come on Baby is a good single too.

What needs to happen from now on is people just like what they want to like. Stop being dictated what’s good music. Personally to me niggas like Jay-Z are whak and I’m not a hater. I just rather listen to better sounding and better appealing lyrics from my favorite artists. Stop copying off what some blogger tells you is hot or what your wanna be thug friend, or wanna be social rebel friend tells you is real hip hop.

Wow, I didn’t know Saigon had so many haters. Especially for somebody who hasn’t even dropped an album yet. When you have a boat load of haters watching your moves, that’s a sign you’re going to do something big.

Anyway, Sai did not get dropped from Atlantic (trust me, we’d know). If he did, he’d say something. Because he ain’t hrdly the quiet type. Even he was to get dropped, so what. That’s exactly what he’d want. It ain’t like he can’t go anywhere else. There’s always other labels. He’s always said, he’d rather be a free agent, than be bound in all the BS with the majors.

Anyway, forget all the net hype. This is about Hip Hop. And anytime an artist actually has something to say, I respect that. I may not agree with him all the time. But, I respect his mission and what he is doing and where he’s trying to go. Because I know whaere he came from.

    Frizzo says:

I can understand where he’s coming from. The labels are letting fly by night artists get on and oversaturate hip hop with bullshit lazy music and this dude was sitting in a cold cell as a nobody just writing ryhmes and dreaming of something better and all rap ever showed him was the industry bullshit. At least he parlayed into a lil acting career.

How sad is this shit, niggas reduced to arguing about the future of hip hop. All this pop shit that’s coming out ain’t hip hop. Saigon is real hip hop. These big corporations and greedy little niggas are killing this shit for good. Saigon is right, this shit ain’t for everyone.

I know this dude has lyrical skill. What he needs to do is stop making mixtape music and start making radio records. That’s when he’ll prove that he’s worthy.

    Clever says:

Everybody is talking about how nice he is but,…..if he was to release his album, majority are going to download fuck up his sales. You got luv fa your artist purchase his music and support him. If he’s really that nice, he would appeal to everyone, not just a Hardcore Hip-Hop Head. Notorious B.I.G Had appeal and Skillz, No Gimmicks, He’s missing something, thats why he was dropped. Understand Its a business, No label is in the business of Losing money, their in the business of making it. At the end of the day its all up to the listeners and, everybody is entitled to listen to whom ever they prefer to listen to, no matter how wack or dope you may think they are.
