I heard the original tracks before I heard the final album as far as 8 diagrams go. RZA should have really left the album the fuck alone. If you search, there are two versions of “The heart Gently Weeps” The first one is much better than the one on the album. Big Doe Rehab is a much more upbeat record than 8 diagrams.

One album dosn’t define that Ghost is better than Wu. There was no chemistry when making the Wu album and that’s where the flaws started.

i didnt get any of them on the strengh of the wu members acting like a bunch or crybabies and grandpas lately.some are complaining about the beats on the album and money and shit like that, and others are pulling stunts at shows complaining about rappers that are doing better then them!

Ghost’s Big Doe Rehab is straight fire but I haven’t heard the Wu Album. Still all in all I’ll give a blind vote to Ghost since the last 3 Wu albums were less than stellar.

I haven’t gotten 8 diagrams yet but I’m gonna cop it for Xmas because I support the Wu regardless. I do have that Big Doe Rehab and that shyt is tight. I love that cd. Real talk though, I didn’t like it as much as his material on More Fish but it’s better than Fishscale. I dunno though, hands down, the Pretty Tony LP is probably one of the best.

Ghostface may not be on the level of Method Man as far as fame, but his material has been better.

Ghost album is better than 8 diagrams. There’s literally only three good songs on the new wu album, and I’ll tell you why. Rza’s production is wack now. You’ll get a few bangers out of him once in a while, and don’t get me wrong I like Rza, but in as of 2001 ti now he just don’t have it anymore. The rest of the wu are as sharp as ever lyrically, but Rza’s production is the weak link on this legendary group and it shows on the new album. Rae’s idea of a new wu-tang album without Rza’a production really is the best idea if wu wants another chance to shine in the late 2000’s. After 8 diagrams it’s safe to say keep Rza as a lyricist, but keep him off the boards…

it’s funny that 99 percent of the comments up there come off as dumb and ignorant. First of all, most of the folks above only heard about the clan from Wu-forever and although people will say it was a lackluster effort, I still think it was a nice album–the various personalities were just overextending themselves i.e. concentrating on solo albums, ancillary groups, money etc… Second, some of these experts above probably did not like the first WU album, they just rode the bandwagon, true as a collective the Wu have never catered to what people have expected of them and why should they? 8 diagrams was a nice album–everybody came with that fire. Production wise, RZA tried something which was not that different from previous albums–it’s all about exploring new ways to give the same old thing artists have and will always look for-that newness/dopeness, if you will. As far as that comment about if the Wu were to dissapear and people not missing the other members sauf Ghost, you must have been living under a rock, dun. Go listen to Plies or whatever the wack shit you usually listen to.
