He also, if I’m not mistaken, scored both Kill Bill movies, one of the Blade movies, Soul Plane (yikes), and probably some more stuff that I can’t seem to think of.

But, yeah, it’s been pretty obvious that Rza and the Clan aren’t on the same page anymore.

I haven’t listened to the leak yet, because I tend not to listen to albums until they actually come out, but I wasn’t expecting much.

1/2 of us don’t download stuff anyway.

If the Clansmen (no David Duke) have such a problem with Rza, they probably shouldn’t have signed that fucked up contract with Wu-Tang Productions back in ‘93.

Yeah, Rifkind let them all pursue non-Loud solo deal, but they were all tied to Rza until the birth of their first born grandsons (which I suppose is close to happening for Gza and U-God (and ain’t Ghost’s son like 19????).

In any event, if you look back through history, Ghost co-executive produced most good Wu albums.

That tells me something.

Rza should’ve at least paid Ghostface what he owes him, executive produced this album with him, and then maybe Bol’s negative ass would’ve had something good to say about this album.

After a couple of his losses, Roy is still fighting. He fights Trinidad next early 2008.

The hip-hop equivalent of that guy Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here was about, except without the sense to go buy a house somewhere and spend the rest of his life tending to his garden.

Sounds like Bol caught the Syd Barrett doc on VH-1 Classics this Thanksgiving. Floyd sure sucked every last bit of milage outta his crazy ass. But the Dylan docs were still better …

While I do actually enjoy a lot of the new album (Wolves is a dope fucking song) I do agree that a Wu-Tang without RZA wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world ~ I guess the only real issue would be if he’d bogart any of ODB’s unreleased material.

The members usually lay down their verses to drum tracks, and RZA does whatever he wants with really makes the beats AFTER the vocals are finished. At least that’s the impression I got reading articles about their recording process.

I don’t actually think the beats on 8 Diagrams are bad beats, I just think the old-fogy rappers who comprise WTC have no idea what to do with them. At this point GZA and Rae can only sound good over boom-bappy shit. I’m not sure who exactly would sound comfortable over some of these beats, but musically they’re good enough.

RZA lost on this

It shows once more that the average HipHop fan is a sad little man with his brain capacity not exceeding that of a monkey.

The music on 8 Diagrams is years ahead of the current state of HH, it is very innovative and original. For me 8D is easily the best album of ‘07, the soundscapes are just phenomenal. It makes sense that most people don’t get it, after all the ‘rappers’ that run rap right now are on the same level as their fans (mentally at least, financially its a little different).

The other thing, there can’t be a Wu Tang album without RZA. He owns the Wu brand, so regardless, he in fact could fire ALL of them if he likes to.

RZA is ahead. Same as his first Bobby Digital album, I thought it was futuristic back then, but it still is. 8 Diagrams is great today and will be a great album in 2017. In 2017 all the current garbage, nobody will listen to that anymore.

I think everyone these days is too used to shitty albums that take one listen to comprehend and call garbage. Wu tang albums aint like that. I had to listen to Forever quite a few times before i liked it, now i love it. Same goes for The W, which had a few missteps but a lot of good tracks. Iron Flag i’m not down with though. My point being that 8 Diagrams is on some next level type shit musically and you need some time to get used to that.

I love how people just shit on producers and rappers now on the internet.
