Ludacris has signed on to appear alongside Scottish actor Gerard Butler in an as yet untitled science fiction thriller from Lionsgate Films. According to slashfilm.com, the film, which is being temporarily referred to as Game, will take place in the near future where mind-control technology allows humans to control other humans in a massive multiplayer online game. Butler, best known for his role as King Leonidas in the film 300, will play a character named Kable who is the highest ranked fighter in a game called “Slayers.” Luda will play a member of a resistance group called H.U.M.A.N.Z. that opposes the use of prisoners in these large scale video games. The film will revolve around Kable’s attempts to regain his identity and take down the system that has turned him into a video game character. Game, which was written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, is currently filming in New Mexico and is scheduled for a December 2008 release.
