• Jay-Z Set to Score 10th No. 1 Album

Thursday Nov 8 11:00 AM CST posted by xxl staff

According to early projections from Nielsen Soundscan, Jay-Z is on pace to score his tenth No.1 Album when first week record sales are tallied next Tuesday. According to Soundscan’s newly implemented Building Chart, which tracks early sales of new releases, Hov moved 179,000 copies of American Gangster during its first day in stores. Another chart topping album for the Def Jam president will tie him with Elvis Presley as the artist with the second highest amount of No. 1 debuts in history. The Beatles currently hold the title for the most, with 19 No. 1 debuts. The Building Chart, which Billboard estimates to represent about 79% of the U.S. retail market, also predicts a debut in the Top 10 for Philly MC Cassidy, whose latest, B.A.R.S. (The Barry Adrian Reese Story), also hit stores this week.

Personally I rate CD’s by first lyrics then I rate on how many window’s down banging it as loud as possible tracks it has. Lyrically Jay always brings it, but he even has 8 out of the 15 tracks that are windows down tracks. That is a good number for a Cali player like me, which makes it easy to get numbers from parking lot pimpin with out having to change disks for another banger.

It’s an official wrap! Now Jay has to make more albums so he can be #2 and not share the position with anybody. When he drop his next (I know he definately dropping another now) that will drop Elvis to #3. Jay keep rising to new heights. This is TIMELESS & PRICELESS. This will be a moment like when Three 6 Mafia won a grammy. I’m proud of Jay-Z. For years I’ve been telling people he is the G.O.A.T. (Nas runner-up then Pac)

Dis album wuz way better than dat Kingdom CUM garbage. In fact I liked it better than Kanye’s Graduation. My favorite songs were Success and Blue Magic. Still, I liked Cassidy’s B.A.R.S album better. i give American Gangster 8/10.
PS: 2WACK: The only way Curtis iz a classic iz if u compare it to Brittney Spears and Jennifer Lopezes albums. I fuckin hate G-Unit dickrydin groupies.
