Chicago MC Common has announced the launch of the Common Ground Foundation, his new charitable organization. The Foundation will be overseen by executive director Jodie Blum and seeks to foster empowerment and development of urban youth through education. Additionally, the organization will focus on AIDS/HIV prevention programs targeting youth in the U.S. and throughout Africa. “I always believed that if we started with the youth then we would be planting the seeds for our future to blossom,” Common said in a statement. Blum, who brings over 12 years of experience in the non-profit even production industry, will be based in San Francisco.
