Lil Wayne and Fabolous are scheduled to headline a concert in Gainesville, FL tonight (October 1) that is intended to raise awareness about the problem of drinking and driving. According to the University of Florida’s Independent Florida Alligator, a portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit the Corey Dahlem Benevolent Fund, which was established after Gainesville police Lt. Corey Dahlem was killed at the hands of a drunk driver. “Everyone here are pretty much students or graduates of the university,” said Nick Roses, VP of media relations for Social Studies Inc, the promotions company organizing the event. “They all knew about Corey Dahlem. It clicked for them.” The money collected for the fund will go towards college costs for officer Dahlem’s two children Katie and Brandon. The performance starts at 7:30 this evening at the University’s O’Connell Center. Tickets cost between $36 and $101 and are available at the box office or through Ticketmaster.

That’s great, but I mean isn’t Lil Wayne constantly high and/or drunk? Maybe it’s ok to fuck up your mind and body constantly, as long as you’re not driving…………….

Oh man I’m not hatin I love Lil’ Wayne…I just thought it was kinda ironic that’s all. I mean I hate drunk drivin as well, but I’ve done it a couple times (hate myself when i do tho). I’m just surprised someones not trying to kick him off the ticket, aka Bill O’Reily. I mean hell Nas or Naas i should say got shit for performing at the VTech concert…and hes a socially conscious rapper.

My Effin' Opinion says:
Alcoholic beverages are legal. It doesn’t matter if they rap about drinking. There is nothing wrong with getting drunk. They are doing a benefit against “DRINKINGAND DRIVING” which is not only illegal, it kills people.
Please tell me your smart enough to know the difference.
