The problem with this letter is that 100,000 fans is pretty much all Nas got. He bitching about a label putting mone behind him, but they wont when in the end. He can’t reach the masses, he can’t produce shit that will fit in with the current state of hip hop. You look at the rest of his Def Jam labelmates they are popping right now and they label is pushing those artists because those artist brings money back in to the label. Nas has become a 3 year artist now, he’s the bench player that comes in the game when their team is either far up or way down. Moral of my comment is, know your role and shut the hell up.

IT WAS WRITTEN was the first rap album I ever owned. I have a lot of respect for what Nas says. His label should be backing him on whatever. Anyway, artists without labels can promote their stuff just as easily. I don’t see what the big deal is.
