Wow. It is crazy how much everyone bitches these days. Yes, racism was a HUGE problem and still is but not close to the degree it was. Now days, there’s more non-racist people then racist. But a lot Minorities still call everything out. BOY WHO CRIED WOLF. No one is listening anymore to legitimate issues because you bitch about everything. If ALL the movies coming out were about White leaders and musicians you’d COMPLAIN. So, now a movie well deserved about some of the pioneers of rap is coming out and you bitch it’s not written by a BLACK person? Who cares. A writers job is to get absorbed into the material, know the people and learn all the facts. It’s better to have the best writer you can find, not pick someone because they’re black. At what point is it that the only racist in the room is you? Seriously, I’m a white male and have no issues with anyone. I hate racism more than anything but see it more and more going to the other side. I always find myself sticking up for minorities if I do see issues. When is the last time you stuck up for a white person when a friend or writer like this calls some bullshit out? People are people. There’s assholes in every race and religion. Don’t let them change your overall view. Once you judge everyone together, you’re no better than those people you hated your whole life. If this doesn’t fit you, than don’t be upset. But if this description fits you, then take a good look in the mirror. I have news for you, everyone is going through hard times. Not just minorities. LIFE is hard. Period. The sooner you stop searching for excuses and tackle the obstacles in your way, the better you’ll be.

Hey I’m a white guy and all I listen to is rap and hip-hop. Music has nothing to do with your race, and I’m sure none of the N.W.A. members thought so either. They’re music was about freedom of speech, and it was for everyone. I always bump “Express Yourself” and “Straight Outta Compton”, and of course all of Eazy’s solo stuff. Plus Eazy’s widow and Ice Cube are both cool with it, so what does it matter? This lady might have her research down, and I’m sure they wouldn’t hire her if she didn’t. And I’ve met some black people who don’t know Tupac or N.W.A. so… Just goes to show music is for everyone.

As stated above, Cube and Tomica are producing the film. One could assume that neither one of them would green-light a bullshit film about THEM.

However, the Notorious film was a lil one-sided to me. I’m not concerned about what color the writer is. I’m concerned about the true story of NWA being cherry-picked and censored in order to make a box office hit (like Notorious). Tomica and Cube are on board – that’s good. What about Jerry Heller, Dee Barnes, the FBI, Dre, Yella, Ren and DOC? Do they provide input too? Lil Kim had NO input with Notorious, which kinda soured the movie for me even though I went to see it.
