The Game Could Escape Prosecution on Officer Impersonation Charge

A Manhattan judge told The Game earlier this morning that if he can stay out of trouble for six months, charges against him for impersonating a police officer will be dismissed. According to website TMZ.com, the Compton native walked into the courthouse with his attorney this morning looking happy and confident. Following the hearing, he emerged looking equally satisfied with the ruling. "I love New York, but I hate the system," he told Reuters. "But, I hate every system." The rapper was picked up on November 16, 2006 in Manhattan after a yellow cab he was riding in ran several red lights. When officers questioned the driver, he told them that his passenger had identified him as a police officer and instructed him to run the lights. In June, Game rejected a plea offer from prosecutors that would have required him to plead guilty to the charge in exchange for a sentence of time served. The former Aftermath artist is also currently facing up to five years in prison in California on charges of possession of a firearm in a school zone, exhibiting a firearm in the presence of an officer and making criminal threats.
