biggiechain.jpgThe City Council of Los Angeles has reinstated a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the slaying of Christopher "The Notorious B.I.G." Wallace. According to KNBC Channel 4 in LA, the council approved the reward on Friday (September 22) after city councilman Dennis Zine made the request. An initial reward of $25,000 was offered in 1997, the year that the murder took place, however it expired before anybody stepped forward with any evidence. In July of this year, the LAPD announced a new probe into the case led by a special task force of detectives. The rapper's family has alleged that two rogue LAPD officers orchestrated the murder on behalf of Death Row Records head Suge Knight, and in January a judge declared a mistrial in their civil suit against the city. The City Council subsequently agreed to pay $1.1 million in sanctions and legal fees to the Wallace family.
