rickross.jpgMiami rapper Rick Ross will enter the charts at number one this week after his debut LP, Port of Miami, scanned just over 187,000 units since its release last Tuesday (August 8). The strong first-week showing comes on the heels of the platinum certification of the ringtone for his hit single “Hustlin'” in July. “Hustlin'” was the first ringtone to receive the platinum certification prior to the actual retail release of the artist’s CD. Port of Miami is the first release under the new Slip-N-Slide/Def Jam joint venture created earlier this year. Elsewhere on the charts, DMX’s sixth solo LP, Year of the Dog...Again, fell seven spots to number nine after racking up only 47,000 in sales in its second week of release.
