Here’s the truth.

Papoose is a very nice lyricist and probably could (hell, probably does) make more money ghost-writing for Diddy or something. He’s mixtape. He doesn’t leap off the track, just kinda blends in with the other 18 underground cats on the tape. No charisma at all. Jive’s a terrible label but if Busta’s still looking out for Pap he’ll probably be fine. But I don’t really see much special about him, a million rappers got tons of nice bars but no charisma.

Papoose has something to say, some of those rhymes that I see people reciting are unquestionably tight. But dude is so monotone when he spits, like nas, but he is not as good, his apperance also is a bit unusual, I do not know if he is just tall and slim or what, but something is not right, His lyrics are good but if you think about it, he is kinda forced on you, he gets a lot of pub. for so little sucess on released recorded material. You may not like some south music but he does not command attention with his music like for instance Young Dro, There are many other reasons, but the most important that I have not heard anyone discussing is NEW YORK DOES NOT AND HAS NOT IN A VERY LONG TIME SUPPORTED THE ARTIST FROM THEIR REGION AT THE LEGIT RECORD STORES. Down south and the Midwest will no longer support your music, unless we want to, some of you guys will never understand this concept but a whole lot of people around the country are not in a new york state of mind, and many more that you think never really were, there areas just never had its own music………If New York had just acknowledged other parts of the country when all of us wanted in on the rap game you guys would still be in control. You have no one to blame but yourselves for the state of rap. A lot of you are cocky for no reason, the people in this country do not want to hear about the NY experience anymore. We already heard it. Many time over. New York reinvent yourself, and buy your own records,then ny will be back.

Papoose is a hot M.C but he would’nt sale no matter what label he is on. Hip hop fans must understand that there is a diffrence between BILLBOARD Hott and Street Hott. Record execs do listen to the streets and will go out to find our good Hip Hop artist and sign them. Dude will show up to the studio with his best A game and spit fire. The only problem is…. BLACK FOLK DONT BUY MUSIC.
Maybe a mix tape or two. Maybe the Bootleg. Young artist must learn to have Mass appeal and be more versatile if they wanna get in the rap game and sale records.
