First off, I have nothing against Lil’Kim but why is it every time a talented up and coming artist try to defend thier own, people get on the net and start to hate and say hurtful and senseless things? Tanya is truly talented and I am proud of her as for Lil’Kim, she is always displaying her disrepect for her gender and race,just the way that she dresses and her awful lyrics. Empress… I don’t know exactly how Lil’ Kim’s situation went down, but if it did indeed happen as you stated then shame on Kim.

As for other artists… With the increasing popularity of Reggae music, Reggae DJ’s know better than to release a song without getting the proper rights. Many years ago (When the only reggae LP’s on store shelves were re-releases from the likes of Bob Marley, U Roy, Jimmy Cliff etc) this was not always the case, as most Reggae DJ’s (Like the ones stated in my previous post) never aquired the rights for a song, especially because of the fact that Dancehall was in low distribution and demand those days.

I remember when Danehall music from Mad Cobra, Cutty Rank’s etc only costed a few $ for a .45, or cassete, but now… unless it’s a new Bob Marley’s greatest Hits CD, Reggae Gold or Sean Paul’s latest (Commercial) CD, you won’t find a Good Reggae CD unless you fork out $20+, All thank’s to Royalties, CD Import fee’s (UK and Jamaica), and Music Label Greed.

I would agree with the last comment, however when reggae artists remake another artists’ lyrics, it is done legally. A real hypocrite is one who invites you into their home (in this case Lil’ Kims native U.S.), pretends to welcome you, and then steals from you or stab you in your back. Bless up

I don’t think that it is wise to make comments such as “patty ass” or “spicy breath” because if that’s what comes to mind when referring to this conflict, that only goes to show how ignorant a class of people can be. If Lil Kim’s greatest support comes from this type of people, then actually I feel bad for her. Regarding Tanya, she is one of the most, if not the most respected reggae female artist. She has successfully been doing her thing for a very long time and it only gets better. She strives maintaining her consciousness, dignity, and independence. She does not need Kims money, however we Jamaicans were brought up to respect principle and morals, and that’s what seperates us in this situation. I’m surprised that people think that just because Tanya is from Jamaica that she is in need of Kim’s money, but like I said before what can you expect from uneducated people. If they could only see what Tanya has accomplished, maybe they would reconsider there assumptions. Tanya is living it up but how the hell would these narrow minded people know that. One last thing, yes we take your music and sing it over and the fucked up thing is it sounds 10 times better. A message to Tanya….. disregard what these idiots are saying because I know you are wise enough to understand their incompetence, keep blessing us with your wicked lyrics, keep up your ambition, and lastly go after this with all you’ve got because what’s yours is your’s and nobody caan change dat!
