cmurder3.jpgEarly next year, Corey “C-Murder” Miller will once again go on trial for the January 2002 shooting death of 16-year-old Steven Thomas. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, during a closed session in her chambers on Tuesday (August 28) Judge Martha Sassone set a February 26 date for the rapper’s retrial. Miller was originally convicted of Thomas' murder on September 30, 2003, but Sassone later overturned the conviction and ordered a new trial after learning that prosecutors had withheld information on the backgrounds of certain key witnesses. After several appeals, Miller was eventually released in March of this year on $500,000 bail and placed on house arrest. Miller is also awaiting trial on two counts of attempted murder in Baton Rouge stemming from a shooting incident at a nightclub in 2001.
