Young Jeezy, Kanye West and JD Lead Rap Nominations in Billboard Awards

Yesterday (June 22), Billboard announced the nominations for the 7th annual Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, which will be held in Atlanta in early September. Chicago rapper Kanye West was nominated in seven categories, including Top R&B/Hip-Hop Song and Top Hip-Hop/R&B Artist. Young Jeezy was nominated in four categories, including Best Rap Album and Best New Artist. Jermaine Dupri and Scott Storch were nominated for both Top Songwriter and Top Producer. The Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards honor the most popular albums, songs and artists in the genres. The awards are based on SoundScan sales data and radio airplay.
