star.jpgSyndicated radio personality Star, the former co-host of New York station Power 105’s morning show, was arrested on Friday (May 12) for threats he made towards the family of rival DJ Envy, according to the Associated Press. A spokesman for the District Attorney says they originally intended to charge Star with harassment, but prosecutors later decided to settle for child endangerment charges. Star, whose real name is Troi Torain, offered listeners $500 if they could tell him what school DJ Envy’s four-year-old daughter attended. He then threatened to “R. Kelly” her, meaning to urinate on her and perform other sexually degrading acts, as the R&B singer was accused of doing to an underage girl in an infamous sex tape. Power 105 fired him on May 10 for the remarks. After being arraigned late Friday night, Star was released on $2,000 bail. Benjamin Brafman, Star’s lawyer, said that his client’s behavior was not criminal and was “never intended to frighten the family.”
