The Racial Totem Pole – Look Through the Eyes of a Racist

Do you ever imagine what it would be like to see the world through the eyes of a racist White man from, let’s just say, Jackson, Mississippi; Charleston, South Carolina; or Jena, Louisiana? Imagine seeing the world through the eyes of someone like former governor of South Carolina and US State Senator Strom Thurmond.

In 1948, Thurman ran for the United States Presidency on the third party ticket of the Dixiecrat Party. During a speech, Thurmond was quoted as saying, “I want to tell you, ladies and gentlemen, that there are not enough troops in the army to force the Southern people to break down segregation and admit the nigger race into our theaters, into our swimming pools, into our homes, and into our churches.”

Strom also conducted the longest filibuster* ever by a U.S. Senator in opposition of the Civil Rights Act of 1957. (*I got to break that word down for my ’Hood Figures, a filibuster is a device, used only in the Senate, to delay or prevent a vote by time-consuming talk). Basically, he was not feeling us negroes getting our civil rights! The same type of hate that Strom possessed is still embedded in millions of prejudice White people all across the country.

It’s scary to think that a strong majority of people who possess this kind of blatant racism have been in office as Presidents, Governors, and Senators; all blatant racist like Strom Thurmond. It is even scarier to think that there are law enforcement officials, policemen
and judges who share the same mentality. How can you protect and serve when you would rather prosecute and sentence? How can a court of law provide justice for us, when time and time again, they prove themselves to be racially unjust against us?

The proof is in the pudding.

You can go as far back to the Rodney King trial, where White officers beat the shit out of a Black man. It was all caught on camera, but the officers were still found not guilty. More recently, recall the slow response by government officials when it came to Hurricane Katrina. I know that was not just a Black and White issue, it was also a rich and poor issue. I still wonder what the response would have been if that had been a town full of more poor White folk than Black folk.

We also cannot overlook the injustice (which by the grace of God was resolved) in Jena, Louisiana. School officials and law enforcement officials were all working to hang (pun indented) six Black students in a court of law!

Through the eyes of a prejudice White man, Rodney King getting his ass kicked by those cops was like the feeling you used to get when you finally beat Mike Tyson in the old Mike Tyson’s Punch Out video game for the first time.

Through the eyes of a racist White man, watching Black people suffer through Hurricane Katrina was like a D-boy watching Young Jeezy go platinum!

The most disturbing thing I’ve seen when looking through the eyes of a racist White man, though, is the breakdown of how they categorize us. It’s almost like a totem pole the way they separate us.

First on the totem pole are:

African-Americans: This exclusive class is said to be what we all are labeled, but that is not the case! Racist White men think African-Americans are non-threatening and usually involved in politics and hold some type of government position. They are extremely wealthy or do great humanitarian work, not to mention they’re often labeled “Uncle Toms” (i.e. Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell and Bill Cosby).

Second on the totem pole are:

Coloreds: These are usually Black folks who entertain racist White men with their extraordinary abilities. You may hear White men whisper to each other, “That colored sure played that role well,” “That colored sure can jump high,” “That colored sure can run the ball,” and lastly, “That colored sure
can dance” (i.e. Denzel Washington, Michael Jordan, Halle Berry, and Emmitt Smith— especially after Dancing with the Stars).

Third on the totem pole are:

Blacks: Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Spike Lee, and Dave Chappelle. These are all Black people. Now, Dave Chappelle could be a colored but his show, as entertaining as it was, was too socially conscious for the White man. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson could be African-Americans but they are too threatening. They stand up for us too much, and Spike Lee is not a colored because his movies, like the Chappelle Show are too socially conscious. Not to mention, after creating movies like Malcolm X and Bamboozled you will never be in a racist White man’s good graces.

And on the bottom of the totem pole are:

Niggers In America, most of us that get caught up in this matrix called the hip-hop generation are niggers! Jay-Z and Diddy, as wealthy as they are, are just a couple rich, rapping niggers to a racist White man. Michael Vick, as entertaining as he is on the field to the White man, is just way too hood to ever be considered anything but a nigger. Racist White men at games say, “Damn, that nigger is quick on his feet.” And he is also known as that dumb, dog-fighting nigger. Niggers buy gaudy amounts of jewelry, get a whole lot of tattoos, and drive cars more expensive than their houses. If it was up to a racist White man we would all be in caskets or prison cells.

So, ladies and ghettomen, after reading this, what have we learned today? Charlamagne Tha God is a nigger, with way too much time on his hands!

Stop being an Uncle Tom for your XXL slave drivers and using the word that starts with N and ends with R. It’s amazing how quickly some of us will sell out, and in your case just to have some god damn blog. More bullshit white propaganda from this website. Quite trying to subvert black culture, and please for the love of all that is holy, stop sucking on massuh’s shriveled little thing.

I will give you a C- for “trying” to discuss race. But that’s about as far as it goes. True, to understand the mind of a racist, you do have to try to see things through their perspective. But this isn’t how you do it.

First….. I don’t really think the average racist has us categorized so efficiently. Most racists are ignorant assed-backwards idiots. They think completely with their feelings of entitlement. Translation? If your skin isn’t white and you aren’t a Christian, you’re the enemy.

Secondly….. You left out a HUGE factor. THE UNCLE TOM. And for the record…. An Uncle Tom, in my opinion, doesn’t only have black skin. An Uncle Tom is anyone willing to ignore the pain and suffering of ANY HUMAN BEING to minimize their personal suffering and to get ahead. But this individual does equal damage to the black community as the racists. Call it what you want… The Black Republican/Tea Party supporter…. Police Informants……

Third…. You left out SELF-HATE. Hip-Hop clearly has a huge problem with this. Dumbing down things. Not voting. Glorifying ignorance. Backstabbing. Doing any and everything to get white america to financially and socially love you and respect you. Even at the cost of stepping on the necks of your mother.

Fourth…. You just called yourself a nigger. While I agree that certain people will only see you a certain way, you wrote this article. No one provoked you. In the end, you woke up and lowered your own individual value. There was no racist moving your key strokes on the computer. As I said, I agree that certain people will only classify you a certain way. But if all you see yourself as is a nigger, how far do you really think you’ll go in this life and the afterlife? A racist can call me what he wants. But as God’s child I have to value myself above the racist’s petty vision.

I commend you on doing the knowledge. You did some work. You got the racist’s history correct (at least the amount you chose to write about). Unfortunately, what was your aim?

Now if you had done this story as “The Traditional Racist Vs. The Changing World”, it probably would have given us, the readers, a clearer understanding of your goal. You would be including yourself as “Part” of the evolving community. But instead, you made yourself part of the problem.

    • Cthagod

Peace Sha. You make good point, but it sounds like you’re seeing it through the eyes of a brother or sister looking at other brother and sisters. Self Hate, and being a Uncle Tom is what we usually see and say about each other. That is a whole nother article and wasn’t my focus but if you go back to what I said about African Americans you will see I specifically mention Uncle Toms. Thanks for reading.

    • zayzkidd

      @ sha
I don’t think the man was calling himself a nigger, or that he or any other black person carries the belief that whites (consciously) put us all in categories. But, I do think that the point he was trying to make was on point. I interact with many people from different walks of life everyday and it’s clear to see the hate they have for people who are different from them.

Man, I walk around in suits and ties everyday and STILL see white people damn near sprint to the other side of the street when they see me coming. White women grab their purses (not realizing it) and smile, and it makes me want to do something violent to them. Am I wrong for feeling this way? No. It’s merely human nature–If you hate me, I’ll hate you. Or should I allow myself to continue to be disrespected like our past? I know that’s how you want it. It’s no different from when you forced your religion on us in order to keep us tamed and away from our rebellious backgrounds (warriors and Kings).

You act as if black people shouldn’t feel insulted by some of our history here in America or by the disrespect that we constantly see TODAY. For example, when black people speak with an ebonic delivery, you all call it ignorance. But, when ANY other nationality comes to America and can’t quite speak the language correctly, you say you love their accent and that it’s because English is not their home language. Well, guess what? IT’S NOT OUR home language either. Anyway, I see through people like you. Stop it.

Let’s see we ALL hate racism, yet we write articles like this. Its funny when a black dude writes an article of about what a racist white dude thinks! Give me a fuckin break. Getting a message across about racism, this is the wrong place to do it, because about 60% of people coming to this website are probably white. We come to this website for 1 reason, that is to keep up with rap music. Let’s try to write an article about that. You racist prick!

Well..I understand where Charlamagne was going with this article. I do believe he is right (to a certain degree) about how African-Americans are viewed into today’s society by other races. Sha made a damn good point with his post as well. Peace to both of you for bringing up valid points. I believe this website promotes ignorance, coonery, and it only provides information about artists that embody all of those characteristics. I don’t give a flying fuck how any one views me because I’m define who I am. Hip-hop culture is becoming more ridiculous by the hour and I’m slowly losing admiration and respect for it. Peace and love to everyone.

  • NAPTOWNNUISANCE

What kills me is being white and loving hip hop since I was young and not only having to deal with racism around me from whites who called me a wanna be and threw the word around but also having to deal with it from blacks as well who like to throw the word wigger around like its cool, which makes them no better than a white racist using the word.I have cousins who date black men, and two of them have mixed children, I have to defend them. And take up for them when people call them nigger lovers and say other shit about them.So its worse from my my point of view. Having to deal with it on both fronts.
I had to recently whip my step sons ass, for calling his black friend a nigger out of anger, and explain to him what the word meant and that I wont tolerate racism in my home, because I have black friends and some of his family is mixed.

I love and respect hip hop and its culture and always have, and have always had a deep respect for it as a child and as an adult, I grew up in a white ghetto with a lot of white kids much like myself, who where ridiculed by the older whites and some blacks because we dressed and listened to black music. People need to realize its not only comin from whites it comes from blacks too, who feel we are emulating their culture and stealing whats rightfully theirs.

I just love music, all different kinds of music, but my first love was hip hop because I experienced the birth of hip hop and liked it because it was a fresh new style of music and have been following it since its inception and have stuck with it through out the years, even when people were sayin it was a fad and would die out.

It doesnt make me a wigger it makes me a music lover, one who is passionate about it like many other people on this site.I dont wanna be black, I dont try to act black, actually I cant stand it when some one does try to act like somethin the are not, just be your self, be what god made you, because I know my skin color will never change.I I dont claim to feel your pains and understand your suffering, all I know is what I have to deal with on my own.

I have an opposite view of African Americans being non threatening to whites, actually those are the ones they should watch out for because they’re the one that can take a white man’s job.

The Blacks on the other hand are practically a nuissance because the only people that listen to what they have to say is other Blacks, because niggers are too oblivious to what’s really going on and the African Americans are comfortable although a lot of .

According to Sha’s logic, it looks like the niggers fit the UNCLE TOM description to a T.

Have you ever wondered why your employer will almost certainly FIRE YOU for holding discussions on Race and Religion? Read the above posts and you will totally understand.

Discussing race is like trying to fill a paper cup with lava. It is a very emotional topic.

    But for the record……

    1. I COMMEND CTHAGOD FOR EVEN ATTEMPTING THIS DISCUSSION.

Although a lot of people are getting emotional, the discussion is good for this nation.

    2. ALMOST EVERY PERSON ON EARTH IS RACIST
    (To a certain degree)

It is only natural to gravitate towards people who are physically and spiritually similar to what you represent. We are humans. Not Gods. We were created with imperfections. The struggle to overcome racism is tough and will continue until the end of time.

    3. YES, BLACK PEOPLE CAN BE RACISTS

I am a proud Black Man, but let’s be honest people. The average black person will disagree, and try to use the argument that “You need to be in a position of power to be a racist”. Ok. Let’s take that argument. Remember a dude named Reginald Denny? Around the same time that Rodney King was getting his rights violated, this dude straight got pulled from his truck and had his ass whipped. Why? For being a white guy. By who? A gang of Black Dudes. Is that not a position of power?

What about a dude named CLARENCE THOMAS. This dude goes out of his way to straight destroy black and brown dreams from the Supreme Court. Is that a position of power?

But the “position of power” argument is BS.You know why? There are too many dead-on examples of our people being racists. Just read some of these blogs.

    4. WHITE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN AND CONTINUE TO BE THE BIGGEST PERPETRATORS OF RACISM

It’s simple mathematics people. There is a certain date when Caucasians will become the minority in America. But that date isn’t here. So guess what? Simply based off of numbers, you’re going to have more of these incidents perpetrated by Caucasians. Just a fact. I know this hurts a little, my Caucasian brothers, but it’s true.

    5. OBAMA DOES NOT SYMBOLIZE THE END OF RACISM

Oh quite the contrary. Things will get much much worse before they get better. Why? FOX NEWS, THE TEA PARTY, JESSE JACKSON, AL SHARPTON, SARAH PALIN, ETC….

But people…. The fact that we are even able to have this conversation is a HUGE leap in the right direction. Yeah, some of yall be on that shit with all of your racist rhetoric. But most of you try. And really that’s all that God asks.

Nowadays people are too scared to tell it to someone’s face.

White people don’t hate black people. They’re just get the shit aggravated out of them by us. The REAL truth is that white people don’t give a damn about anybody. Not even other white people. That’s why they get so far ahead in shit. Whatever they want or want to do, they just do it; race, politics, religion and all that bullshit aside. Who’s pissin em off? Everybody tryna see & copy how they do shit for the acceptance they probably already have for other people.

You can’t hate what you don’t give a damn about. Straight up.

So for Fed it goes like this. I’m Black. And? I’m smarter than 85% of the people I’ll ever meet. So? I work, love all people, go to church, am happy engaged and shit. Big deal. But you know why THIS topic doesn’t bother me? Because it doesn’t affect me. Racism can’t stop you from doing shit unless you let it. Racist has more power than you, outsmart him. More money than you? Cut into it. More influence? Turn it on them. Plain and simple. Nobody’s gonna get anywhere if all they get bashed into their heads is “I’m not white, it’s automatically harder for me.”

    • FINALLY someone said it

god damnit it took long enough for someone to say it: most white people aren’t racist, they really just don’t give a fuck about anyone but themselves. I’m not white, im asian and have been around white people all my life. hell yea they make racist jokes, but they’re just JOKES! they know that it gets to you so they keep on doing it. (admittedly there are straight up racist white people but they are a minority) the more you hype race up the more this gets on everyone’s mind and the more they are willing to pull that race card cuz its the easiest route. Life is a joke, if you can’t see the funny its not our fault.

btw for all the racism that you experience, not one of you have defended a Jew. its only when it’s YOUR race that you suddenly stand up? seriously now, your the racist. or bigot, whatever.

    What up Fed!

Not being white does make it automatically harder, but where people get it mixed up is when they start thinking harder means impossible, so they do nothing but point fingers instead of grinding it out and make things happen, and while some white people might not hate blacks, they do get aggrevated by successful ones, because oppression is the goal now; keeping the poor poor and the rich rich. Just think, how many times have you heard people getting laid off, and the employees that stay get stiffed on a raise because of a “tight budget” but the CEO and other execs still manage to get their bonuses every year? And still want tax cuts that suppose to bring more jobs, yet they stay laying off.

The only thing in the world that cannot be racist, or race-related for that matter, are assholes. Period.

That means, however justified our outcry as blacks vs white man’s burden is, I will not try to look through an asshole’s scope because there is nothing to gain for me. I’ll keep it moving. I’ll take care of me, of my family, and hope and encourage every struggling black people to do the same by any constructive means possible, DESPITE racism.

Racists really belong in a world where there was such a thing as slaves and masters. They’re still around, but this ain’t their world anymore. This belongs to us if only we are willing to seize it.

It’s only normal that our grandfathers are almost as reluctant as their racist white contemporaries regarding racial matters. They witnessed it firsthand and got it worst than any of us. But they fought the system and won a lot, so we have to keep the empowerment they initiated alive, and let go of the grudge and the fear. Otherwise, we’re running in circles, and those preaching our demise and justifying our alleged inability to be successful in anything would be proved right. I won’t give them that satisfaction.

Shit, the bus driver that hit you is responsible for you ending up in hospital, but no matter how you blame him or make him pay for your bills or anything, you’re the only one who get to decide if you’re willing to get back to walking in the first place. He doesn’t have to make that decision for you.

Peace to y’all! These are my 2 cents.

Racism is not always so overtly sinister. It can come across in many ways. Sometimes the only way that a racist can respect you, is if you are like them. If you dress like them, if you speak like them, if you share the same values as them. Someone mentioned entitlement. That is the attitude. The attitude that you have everything to teach and nothing to learn. They lack the capacity to empathize with those that they believe are different from them. It’s as if they believe that you are not living up to your human potential if you do not live a life that resembles their own, and that they are at the epitome of human potential.

I fcuk with that description. It’s a innate mind state that says no matter what you (honestly/intelligently) say or do I will disregard and not give credit because I’m superior to you.

Doesn’t matter you are wearing a suit, I will clutch my bag (here in the UK the sistas do it to! smh)

I dont know why corny individuals think there is a such thing as race. Tell you what race really exists….human race flat out. That’s not an opinion, that is a fact.

Wherever the hell we started, we migrated to different regions. Thats where the mutations came in, ie darker skin tones for those that stayed in the sun, paler skin for those that lived in caves, all the way down to physical attributes that came about because of a certain region.

Blacks, whites, hispanics, or whatever are not different species. Different species cant reproduce. Thats like cats trying to mate with frogs or some nutty shit. Different species, cant happen.

I bet you a stack that a “white” person can reproduce with a “black” person. I bet you a stack that a “mexican” can reprodcue with a japanese person. Know why cause the anatomy is all the same because everyone is the same, just different skin tones, features, and attributes. The race is human.

Well all except me, I’ve been an E.T. from the start actually. I’m trying to get back home away from you ignorant assholes.

  • Coolin

Why do white folk still frown on the African American community?
Well it might be because when we open the newspaper or get online news 7 out of 10 murders is African Am. then 2 out of 10 is Mexican and 1 out of 10 is whit.
It might also be the communities that were nice at one time until it got over run by African Am. eventually becomes a hell hole and all the property value goes down like a skud missile.
It might also be because your always blaming us for all your shortcomings and expect us to fix it or give you handouts.

Have you ever thought about trying to be better as individuals. I don’t know maybe goiong to school and learning something other than being a rap star or some kind of entertainer. Once they can’t be an entertainer they become gang star’s that bring nothing to society but, menacing.

I wish the African Am. community as a whole could do better b/c this world would be a lot better place but, that day will never come in my life time, which sucks.

Charlamagne or whatever your name is I feel bad for you. I hope you don’t go through life blaming everyone else but yourself. Grow up and quit being a racist.

    • Wow

I think you missed the point of this article. The reasons you listed as to why we as African-Americans are frowned upon were amusing to me. African-Americans actually feel the same exact way as you for the most part. Charlamagne, was just using the White racist’s p.o.v. as a vehicle to explain the totem pole that we as a people have been classified in for years. By racist white people & by our own doing. Racism has been an institution in this country since it’s fruition (i.e. SLAVERY). Sen. Strom Thurmond was a perfect example. His whole legacy is built off racism, & he has a BLACK daughter, GO FIGURE.
Also, it’s 2010, we as people really don’t blame White people for our problems. And, these so-called handouts that we need to fix our problems, really turn them into an issue. We all don’t gravitate towards government funded nonsense. Truth be told, ever since Wall Street crashed every race, color, & creed has needed and/or requested a hand-out. Based off of what you wrote YOU OBVIOUSLY VIEW US NEGATIVELY OFF TOP ANYWAY, which pretty much cements Charlagmane’s point. P.S. I GUESS YOU NEVER HEARD ABOUT REAGANOMICS or the CRACK-ERA, that didn’t become an issue until the CELTICS #1 pick died & until it drifted into working-class suburban areas….(Remember JUST SAY NO!) I not even gonna mention “White-flight”, the fear of BLACK NEIGHBORS.

      • Coolin

I view the African American community off of there actions. Actions speak a lot louder than words and the actions I see are what I listed above. I am not racist towards the African Americans who do something productive but, I am racist to the ones who are labeled the “N” word b/c they bring nothing but shit to society. I have plenty of African American friends that try and I like them and if they didn’t try I wouldn’t be friends with them b/c they are pathetic. I also feel the same way about white trash.
Just try a whole lot harder and then maybe I wouldn’t feel that way about that certain class within your class.

        • Anonymous

So are all unproductive african-americans ‘niggers’/'niggas’ from your viewpoint? It sounds like you are a part time racist… okay I get it. There is no point in declaring you have black friends, also (FYI). Basing your ideology off of perceived actions of a certain race is ignorant. You have a lot in common w/ the class of people you seem to despise. Unfortunately our dirt gets aired publicly waaayyy more than your everyday caucasian (who are blatantly doing the same exact things…. sometimes worse).

  • Brass Tacks

Racism at its root is ignorance. But blaming other people for the self destructive attitudes and tendencies get old when we would rather dumb it down in high school instead of using it as a springboard to a better life. Life isn’t fair I know this first-hand. But the Mythical WHITEMAN isn’t destroying our neighborhoods WE are. WE segregate amongst ourselves. WE kill each other over colors, WE would rather mean mug each other rather than salute our fellow brother. WE practice self-hatred. WE bad mouth our own skin tones and hair texture. WE DO THIS! And its a shame because everything that WE DO permeates through American culture. Our Style, Lingo, Dance, and the essence of who we are in general gets copied, watered down, then fed to the masses for stoopid amounts of money. But we’re to busy grandstanding, pointing fingers, and keeping it real to understand we’re our biggest problem. Until we stop the crab in the barrel mentality the cycle of self destruction Is only going to continue.

  • 3rd eye clear

The new thing really is reverse victimization!!

Stop pretending and accept that slavery happened.

Stop pretending that there was aid; human or otherwise. Imagine being told you were not fully human as way to exclude you from constitutional protection and to justify treating you like property to be controlled.

Stop pretending that this was all 400 YEARS AGO. The great Dr. King was assassinated in 1968!! Segregation was suupposedly ended in 1954…thats 58 years ago!! Not 400 years ago!!
Let me sum it up..my grandfather and grandmother are alive and still struggle with this as does there children..I am the light of change for them..lets talk in a another 30 years about this because 58 years later is not enough time to heal!!

  • Magnetic

Everybody no matter what color or ethnicity has two eyes, one nose, one mouth, two ears, 10 fingers, 10 toes, boogers, yellow piss, red blood, the whole 9. Only one race, the human race. Just different groups from different places and cultures and instead of hating each other we should be trying to understand and learn each others cultures. Its really that simple and simply put racism is ass backwards, thats why its called ignorance. At the same time I just watched a documentary on the history channel about the history of the KKK in the south and it amazes me that majority of southern rappers really don’t have shit to say. You would think there would be alot of mcs with knowledge of self coming out of there dropping jewels and there probably is but they don’t get burn on MTV, BET, or XXL for that matter.

  • White Power All Day

Ass woopins on me im somethin like a hero .. ill smack the motherfucken ashes right off of a negro .. fuck black people i got a lot to say .. ill take a big ass shit on Martin Luther Kings grave.. ill wip em like slaves cause they all have AIDS.. ill hang em by a tree by their nappy ass braids..If life was a movie id have slavery on repeat .. ill cockslap obamas mama while shes fucken sleeping ..ill make a nigger pick my cotton run em over with a tractor .. then feed the remains to an ACTUAL Black Panther..Ill hijack a bus and park on rosa parks tomb.. treat her like roadkill cause shes nothing but a coon..ill become a firefighter just to not save a negro.. n let him splatter on the concrete at ground zero .. let em splatter by the couple just because its tuesday.. ill crash a nigger party and put anthrax in the kool aid.. ill deep fry them like chicken just because its friday .. these dead niggers look like oil spills on my driveway..ill go back in time just to murder harriet tubman .. treat her like a jew and toss her in an oven..WHITE POWER BITCH! NOW YOU KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE

  • sway-z

The bottomline is, I can understand completely how white people view us if all they see is niggas in rap videos or athletes beating bitches up at strip clubs. If you ain’t exposed to different types of people in your everyday life, all you can base your view off of is what you get from the media or stereotypes. Chances are, if you white, and you ran into a nigga that don’t know you, he probably proved those stereotypes right

  • Escobar9300

Man, all this racism talk is interesting, but at the end of the day, you’ll never get anywhere by blaming all of your problems on another race or culture. Slavery was disgusting and horrible, as was the way blacks were treated like 2nd and 3rd class citizens for most of recent memory. But what good does it do to play the poor me card? You want to be successful, go hustle and get your bread, and that goes for everyone white or black. Stop worrying about the next mans opinion is of you, and even more so, don’t hate a man today for what a man did 200 years ago. If none of us can move on, then the world will be stuck in this limbo of hate, self pitty, and anger.

RACE………only exits because of racism. Racism is “the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that ‘race’, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races” (quoted from Oxford English Dictionary).

Now go find a definition from a credible dictionary of the word “RACE”.
You’ll most likely find definitions that talk about a competition between runners, boats, horses, cars etc.

Therefore…….RACE in the context that has become should not exist.

    Questions that are continually asked are;

    ****Why are people racist?
    ****Why does racism still exist?
****Why are some people so against Blacks, Whites, Indians, and Asians?

No one is born a racist. There has never been and never will be a scientific fact that proves people develop some type of racist tendency while their brain develops in their mother womb.

A person’s outlook on life, personality, and perspectives on others is largely based on how they are raised. Who raises children? Their parents or guardians.

If a child is taught certain things, overhears certain things, or is ultimately subject to certain things throughout their mental stages of development…………they will without doubt be affect by these factors.

If a child is shown the ways of violence and taught to kill at a very early age and consistently taught that this way of life is correct by the people they look up to (parents or guardians) they are going to become accustomed to these things and they will have no sense of wrong or right.

SAME thing applies for a racist. It is there parents and the people who have influenced them.

    How do we stop racism???

STOP segregation in schools. ALL BLACK SCHOOLS? The notion of all black schools is absurd. This is working against what Black people have fought for, for hundreds and hundreds of years.

With ALL BLACK schools……..people like Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. have worked for nothing. Even the notion of all black schools gives the impression that MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DIED FOR NOTHING, which he most certainly did not

DIVERSITY IN SCHOOLS IN THE ANSWER.
If children are introduced to a variety of different races, ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientations at an early age……there will be far less hatred in the world.

These children……….these children who attend diverse schools at a very early at (elementary schools but more preferably kindergarten) will become the generation who eradicates racism and the very word RACE in the context that we are talking about it. This generation of children will grow up to be parents one day. And it is most likely that their children will follow the same path as their parents.

Will this happen all over the world?
    Most likely no.
But it’s a start. Something that I think can happen in North America. It will take time. But the dreams of Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., and millions of other people in the world must continually be honoured and pursued.
AFTER ALL, WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS.
……well except Lil Wayne according to him.

It’s the unintentional comedy of the title of this piece that really stands out. Yes, let’s “look through the eyes of a racist!” The – sorry – THA “God” that wrote this whiny drivel is presumably a member of that street-rat cargo-cult that believes that white people (created by a mad scientist) are “THE” (not “A”) grafted Devil.

If race-hate is so bad, then why is it an article of your personal faith? Do we all have a right to hate a particular race and scapegoat it for all our problems, personally and as a community, or don’t we? Who gets to decide? What would we see if we looked through your eyes? Do the knowledge “God”.

As an international interpersonal communication doctorate student who is also a proud African American, I am appalled to read your childish degradation of the whole African American culture to smithereens with nothing but your “so-called hood knowledge” backing you up. Since I am precisely confident that whatever knowledge I or any of those comments above mine might bestow upon you will fall short to deaf ears, I’d rather ask you something… What would you suggest to make things better? You might respond by stating that you’re merely showing what is wrong with the US as a nation, but the truth is, you’re still adding to the whole racial tension present in the US, not helping incite tolerance.
PS- How absurd your totems are is beyond baffling. And to those who believe that Race is something that can be eliminated, please do give me examples of this happening. And for those who assume that Racism is nurture based, please do take a look at the “Clark Doll Experiment”. Racism is one thing; racism based on class, gender, age, sex, ability, religion…etc then, we get the problem with the US.
    Thank you.
