5 Encouraging Signs There’s Hope For New York Rap – U.N.I.T.Y.

N is for noteworthy
Whether it’s on the production side or featured performances, artist from New York have made some notable contributions on some of hip-hop’s biggest projects this year. Along with his business ties to Miami bawse Rick Ross, Diddy has spit verses on quite a few big records over the past year, including DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win (Remix).” Diddy wasn’t the only New Yorker to make his presence felt on Khaled’ club banger, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe and Jadakiss all made cameos as well.

While fellow Lox member Styles P made a stellar contribution to Rick Ross’ smash single “B.M.F (Blowing Money Fast),” his old Ruff Ryder producer Swizz Beatz was seemingly working with everyone. Swizz produced singles for Gucci Mane, and played a part in several of Kanye West’s bigger singles this summer, “Power (Remix)” and “So Appalled.” Not to mention Jay-Z’s recent collaboration with Mr. West and their rumored EP, Watch The Throne. Where it felt like New York’s wordsmiths weren’t being very productive during its recent dark days, they are certainly getting their fair share of the spotlight at the moment.
