JORDAN 5
I’m fairly certain these were the first shoes I ever paid for with my own money. Every other shoe was based on begging mom for her hard earned cash to keep me fly, but I’m pretty sure this shoe was the catalyst for me getting my first job and hence my own money to do as I pleased. These shoes were the most amazing things that I had ever laid my eyes on in the world. Not only did they have that ice outsole that gave way to the HUGE Jumpman logo, the ill ice side panels, and the 3M tongues, but they came with the plastic lace toggles. Those were the cherries on top for me. We had the Starter Jackets that had the bigger toggles on the drawstrings and we’d go in sports stores and boost the toggles off of the jackets… but that’s another story. These would be my No. 1 pick, but my sentimental connection to them doesn’t override the fact that, in the style department, I feel like the Jordan 3 is better designed.
JORDAN 9
For some reason, right along with the 3′s this is one of the more iconic models in the catalog. The way the black mudguard frames the shoe and makes its way from toe to ankle only to be met by the lace loops and zig zagging laces is just so aesthetically pleasing. Not to mention the black had those small crystals embedded in them, man oh man. Maybe I should bump these up in my ranking
