Eminem’s ‘Recovery’ Sets Digital Sales Record

In a long career full of awards, milestones and several highlights, Detroit rapper Eminemtoday became the first artist to surpass 1 million digital sales of an LP in the United States. His album Recovery was already the top-selling physical album with the 2010 release nearing 4 million in sales. Coming on the heels of his No. 1 joint album Hell: The Sequelwith Royce Da 5’9 as super duo Bad Meets Evil, this latest achievement catapults Slim Shady’s crest of fame even higher.

Eminem has sold a reported staggering number of nearly 6 million copies of Recovery worldwide, his seventh studio album and sixth No. 1 release overall. Em’s magic touch has seemed to spread to his longtime friend and rhyme partner Royce Da 5’9 as Nickel Nine enjoyed the first No. 1 ranking for the first time in his long and storied career.
