Lupe Fiasco Was the Original Voice on B.o.B.’s ‘Airplanes’

Imagine B.o.B.’s. colossal hit “Airplanes” without the B.o.B.

Well that was almost a reality, as rapper Lupe Fiasco was originally tapped for the Hayley Williams of Paramore-assisted single. Last week, a leak of Lupe’s version of “Airplanes” hit the internet. At the beginning of the track, Lupe shouts out Lasers, his current album that earned him his first debut at number one on the Billboard charts. On Lupe’s version, his verses aren’t really topical to the hook of the song, while B.o.B.’s remain true to the central theme. However, some fans wished Lupe kept the track. Read more…
