Although Lil Wayne was intent on delivering one of his most dynamic performances ever while kicking off the opening show for his nationwide I Am Music II tour in Rhode Island, the Young Money mogul paused his set to give a heartfelt showing of respect to some of hip hop and music’s fallen greats.

At the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Lil Wayne proceeded to thrill the crowd with a number of his hits before handing over the stage to his Young Money protégé Nicki Minaj.
