On Saturday (Feb. 23), a photo surfaced on the internet that shows incarcerated rapper Tay-K wearing an anti-suicide smock while speaking on a jailhouse phone. Despite the optics of the situation, Tay's team wants people to know he is not having thoughts of taking his own life.

Saturday night, Tay-K's manager Ezra Verill hopped on Instagram and deaded the speculation that was surrounding Tay-K following the photo being circulated. "Let me clear the air real quick," he posted on his Instagram Story. "That picture is over seven months old. Tay is not suicidal."

According to Verill, the Texas rapper wore the garment in order to get out of a lengthy stint in the hole. "[Tay-K] did that to get out of solitary confinement he's been in for close to two years," Verill added. "Crazy the extremes you have to take just to be treated humanely in a fucked situation."

Tay-K, born Taymor Travon McIntyre, is currently sitting in jail while he waits to face trial on two separate murder charges and an aggravated assault. The 18-year-old is accused of being a part of the robbery and murder of 21-year-old Ethan Walker in 2016. While on the run from that case, he infamously released the platinum single "The Race." Prosecutors in Texas also say he committed the murder of 23-year-old Mark Saldiva at a Chic-fil-A in San Antonio, Texas and additionally beat up a 65-year-old man in an Arlington, Texas park all while evading arrest. All of Tay-K's co-defendants in the Walker killing have taken plea deals.
