Xzibit Remembers Tiffany Haddish's 'Pimp My Ride' Cameo From 2005

Last May, a clip from a 2005 episode of Pimp My Ride went viral when fans discovered that comedian/actress Tiffany Haddish made a pre-fame appearance on the classic TV show.

The defunct series, which was hosted by Xzibit for six seasons, was beloved for its absurd auto customizations, such as new paint jobs, LCD monitors and at least one in-car fish tank. The L.A. rapper remembers Haddish's appearance on the show more than a decade ago, when she advocated for a friend named Rashae to have her whip tricked-out.

“I didn’t know she was going to be Tiffany Haddish 'til she was Tiffany Haddish,” Xzibit tells XXL. “We all get our breaks and our taste of entertainment in different ways. Who would’ve knew that she was going to be able to do what she did. Thank God it happened.”

Tiffany's screen time on the season four episode is brief but hilarious. The comedy queen, who stars opposite Queen Latifah in the 2017 blockbuster film Girls Trip, shares a story about how her car collided with her friend's car after they were distracted by a "really fine dude" on the street.

X-to-the-Z held down hosting duties on Pimp My Ride from its 2004 launch until it wrapped in 2007. The show provided more than just a new look for participants' cars.

“I’m glad the show touched a lot of people,” says Xzibit, who squares off with Eminem in the 2002 film 8 Mile and, more recently, played a recurring role on the TV show, Empire. “We did a lot of good things for a lot of people on that show.”

After famously curving the thought of returning to Pimp My Ride, Xzibit admitted that he would consider a relaunch under one condition.

“If it’s going to come back on the air with Xzibit involved then you best believe that there is ownership involved,” the West Coast veteran says. “They built that show on my back and that’s what I feel.”
