Recently, Danish pop act Lukas Graham delivered a cover of XXXTentacion's "Sad!" for Spotify's Spotify Singles series. Earlier today (Jan. 30), after facing some backlash for covering an artist who had domestic violence charges leveled against him at the time of his death, the group have removed the song from the streaming platform.

Before the song was removed, the group's lead singer Lukas Forchhammer uploaded an Instagram post apologizing for covering a song linked to an artist with X's alleged past.

“Our cover of ‘Sad!’ will be taken down ASAP," Forchhammer wrote in the caption for the post, which includes a snippet of the group performing the multi-platinum-selling song from X's ? album. "I had no knowledge of his violent history. I’m very sorry for the pain I’ve caused. Again, I’m very sorry.”

The public part of the history Forchhammer speaks of came when XXX was arrested and charged with a variety of domestic abuse charges in October 2016. The case domestic violence case against X was dropped after he was shot and killed on June 18, 2018.
