UPDATE:

Following a report by Rolling Stone that Chance The Rapper felt making a song with R. Kelly was a "mistake" and he "didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were Black women," the rapper has gone on record to state his quote was taken out of context.

On Saturday night (Jan. 5), Chance went to his Twitter account to share his true sentiments. "The quote was taken out of context, but the truth is any of us who ever ignored the R Kelly stories, or ever believed he was setup/attacked by the system (as black men often are) were doing so at the detriment of black women and girls. I apologize to all of his survivors for working with him and for taking this long to speak out."

Chance spoke with journalist Jamilah Lemieux in May regarding his feelings about the 2015 song collaboration with R. Kelly. After she caught wind that the the rhymer's quote was taken out of context, she also went on Twitter to share her frustration. "The writer took the quote out of context. This is terrible reporting. I am so disgusted and angry. Do better @RollingStone," she tweeted.

Hindsight is 20/20. Chance The Rapper now regrets making a song with fellow Chicago artist R. Kelly.

Kellz is currently under fire as the revealing docuseries Surviving R. Kelly is debuting on Lifetime, revealing accusations of sexual and mental abuse of teenagers and grown women. According to Rolling Stone, Chance The Rapper will reportedly be featured on the final episode of the series, which airs Saturday night (Jan. 5), where he denounces his work with the embattled singer.

“Making a song with R. Kelly was a mistake. I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were Black women,” Chance the Rapper told Cassius' journalist Jamilah Lemieux. “I made a mistake.”

Chance and Kelly previously worked together on the 2015 song “Somewhere in Paradise,” which also featured Jeremih He also appeared in Kelly’s “Backyard Party” video and brought out the singer as a surprise guest during his 2014 Lollapalooza set, introducing the controversial singer as the "Pied Piper of R&B.”

Chance isn't the only rapper to have his eyes opened. Hip-hop has sounded off on the the claims made against the singer in the new series.

"How did we not see you was and are a wild sick child molester??" Cappadonna captioned a photo of Kelz on Twitter on Saturday. "TF you got boxers on in a shoot with a 15 year old child bro???!! You can’t heal what happened to you but hurting others. Hell gonna rip you hard man🔥🔥🔥🔥."
