While 6ix9ine sits in federal custody on racketeering and weapons charges, petitions to free the rapper have been hitting the internet. On Friday (Jan. 4), A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Tory Lanez went on their Instagram accounts urging fans to sign their names on one such change.org petition.

“Everybody Help My Man 6,” Lanez wrote in his caption, while A Boogie provided a link to the petition.

6ix9ine fan William Cornish started the petition to support the Dummy Boy artist. “We want him home his Attorney’s are aware of it and WILL be using it in his defense,” he writes.

So far, the petition has garnered over 7,000 signatures and nearing the goal of 10,000.

This is not the same fan petition that was filed last month to convince a judge to allow the "Gummo" rapper to be freed on bond. That online appeal has reached over 60,000 signatures so far and is closing in on the goal of 70,000 names.

In the meantime, 6ix9ine's attorney Lance Lazarro is putting together a $1.5 million bail package with the hopes of convincing the judge to release the rapper from the federal detention center at his next hearing on Jan. 22. 6ix9ine's federal trial is expected to begin on Sept. 4, 2019.
