Tory Lanez has clarified his remarks after seemingly placing 6ix9ine and the late Tupac Shakur in the same bracket. Yesterday (Dec. 4), the "Drip Drip Drip" rapper issued a statement on Twitter about comments he made during a recent interview in which he likened the release of the Brooklyn artist's debut project Dummy Boy from jail to Tupac Shakur and his release of Me Against The World while he was incarcerated in 1995.

"I did not compare 6ix9ine to 2 pac ... I just said they both dropped big albums from jail at the level of fame that they had . Get off my dick," Tory said in his tweet.

During his interview with Tim Westwood, the Love Me Now? rapper spoke on the rainbow-haired rapper, who's currently in jail after being arrested for racketeering and firearms charges. Lanez said that it's a "tough situation" for Tekashi, but also said that he's the only artist to generate a major buzz for an album while locked up.

"It's really sad to see somebody at that platform...it kinda reminds me of, like, Bobby Shmurda," Tory said. "But Bobby Shmurda didn't even get to go as far. For somebody to go that far, you got Kanye, Nicki Minaj, your album's dropping. It's like, the only nigga who had shit like that popping was Tupac. When Tupac was in jail he dropped the biggest album. Not to say it was the biggest album of all fucking time, but it was a pretty big moment. It's sad he's gotta be locked up during it, is all I'm saying."

At the moment, there are at least 20 well-known rappers who had the streets buzzing after they dropped albums while behind bars. Check out Tory Lanez's clarification of his comments below.
