French Montana's 2016 song "Lockjaw" marked his first collab wit Kodak Black, earned the rapper a gold plaque and also put the Bronx entertainer at the head of a lawsuit. Now it appears all has been settled between French and his accuser.

This brings to end a situation that has been over a year in litigation. On Friday (Dec. 21) The Blast reported that both French and his accuser, Moroccan producer Yo Asel, have settled. Asel will dismiss his case against the rapper and both parties will be required to pay for their own legal fees.

The suit was brought forward in 2016 by Asel. He claims to have sent the track he titled "Sleep85" to French Montana back in 2014 via e-mail. Asel claims French directed him to "send more." Two years later, he claimed he heard the "Lockjaw" track, which he says includes a modification of his original beat. A beat he was never compensated for.

The producer reached out to French, but claims the Bad Boy rapper did not reply and blocked him on social media. He sued for unspecified damages and requested a judge prohibit Montana from profiting off of and performing the record. It looks like the "No Stylist" rapper won out in the end.

Musically, it's been one of French's slower years output-wise, but the rapper has made it one of his biggest years when it comes to philanthropy, whether it was providing supplies for a school in Morocco, bailing strangers out of jail or opening a hospital in Uganda.
