On Sunday (Dec. 2), it was reported that Travis Scott's Astroworld album had reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Now it seems like 6ix9ine may be the true chart-topping artist of the week.

According to a statement from Billboard issued yesterday (Dec. 4), a chart processing error caused the results to turn out in the "Sicko Mode" rapper's favor and are now being audited by Nielsen Music.

"The results of the Billboard 200 chart dated Dec. 8, which was announced on Sunday (Dec. 2), are being audited by Nielsen Music due to a processing discrepancy," Billboard said in its statement. "Upon completion of the in-depth audit of data sources across streaming and retail, Billboard will announce any resulting changes that may affect chart rankings."

Both Travis Scott and 6ix9ine went head-to-head for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart this past week. Although the "Fefe" rapper was trailing behind Scott at No. 2, Billboard reported that Travis Scott's 17-track album moved 71,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Nov. 29. Out of the total units, 29,000 were sold through downloads and 31,000 came through album sales, which marks an 816 percent increase.

However, according to a report from Hits Daily Double, SoundCloud allegedly reported 6ix9ine's streaming numbers late causing said streams to be "disallowed" and left out of the final count.

"Our team has done a deep dive and found the cause of the initial discrepancy," Nielsen's Drew Bennett told Hits Daily Double. "We've since then reprocessed the jobs necessary and re-finalized the charts. As a result, 6ix9ine's 'Dummy Boy' will be moving to #1... Our team is working quickly to identify the root cause of this discrepancy to ensure that we get it right the first time."

Hits Daily Double also confirms that Sony, who distributes Travis Scott's music, will dispute the outcome. 6ix9ine's debut LP topped the iTunes charts after he dropped the album from behind barsBillboard will make the final announcement regarding this week's No. 1 album once the audit has concluded.
