Detroit's own Icewear Vezzo goes major. Last week, the rapper celebrated Halloween (Oct. 31) by signing a new recording contract with Motown Records.

Addressing his latest success in a video uploaded to his YouTube account, Vezzo walks around and contemplates his life. He talks about the importance of trusting the process. "We all go through the process, only a few survive, even fewer win," he says.

Elsewhere in the celebratory announcement video, Vezzo gives thanks to people who've helped him along the path to success. "Shout out to Ethiopia, my A&R Dame, managers Chanel and Adrian," he says. "I came home to a blessing. It feels like I play for the Pistons. It's the home team Motown Records."

This new record deal is the culmination of all the hard work Vezzo's put in since unloading his debut mixtape The Clarity six years ago. Since then, Vezzo has kept his foot on the gas by continually dropping off new projects, including several entries into his The Clarity mixtape series. Now, he's gearing up to unleash his debut album.

Vezzo now joins Lil Yachty, Cuban Doll, Lil Baby, Matt Ox, Migos, Rich Homie Quan, Zaytoven, City Girls, Lil Baby and Gunna are a few other artists who are signed to Motown Records.

Congrats to Icewear Vezzo on his record deal. Hopefully, new music will follow soon.
