Tru Life’s rap career has taken some twists and turns, but now, he’s officially ready to deliver his newest project, Walking on Water. The New York rapper recently shared the official cover and tracklist, which shows impressive features such as T.I., Future, Rick Ross, Tory Lanez, Yo Gotti, and more. The project is set to release on November 9th.

Most recently, Tru Life shared his newest record “Cause I Can” featuring Velous, which is a track featured on the new project. He also already released two singles prior to this: “Baddie” featuring Future and “Bag For It” featuring Rick Ross and Velous. Other featured artists include Don Q, Dave East and Jermaine Elliot. Walking on Water’s production is handled mainly by Myles William, and also includes beats by Teddy Da Don, Elements, and DJ Clue.

The new 11-song project is his first full-length project since his popular 2007 mixtape, Tru York. Back in 2011, Tru was sentenced to a five year jail stint for gang assault after a brawl at a nightclub led to a fatal stabbing. Since his release in 2016, Tru has delivered some new singles, including "Last Night" and "Bang Bang," and the Future-assisted “Baddie.” In 2017, he officially joined Future’s label and got to call Freebandz his new musical home. Now, he's the CEO of his own label, Mogul Tree.

In 2016, Tru Life spoke with XXL about working on an album. "I’m working on an album. I know people want so much from me," he said. "They expect so much from me. They’re like, 'Right now, right now.' But, they don’t understand it’s not so easy to come home from doing eight years and jump into the studio and everything be about music, music, music. Especially when you got kids and a life and your life has been so torn apart by being gone for eight years and you’re coming home and picking up all those pieces, you know? It’s just not that easy of a transition."
