Travis Scott responds to allegations he didn't secure proper insurance for his April 2017 concert that left one of his fans paralyzed after they fell off a balcony.  Reps for the rapper say that, despite The Blast's report that Bowery Presents LLC. was suing Scott for failing to get the right insurance for the ill-fated show, Scott did, indeed, buy insurance for the performance. Through his reps, Scott has also denied that he's been sued over these allegations this month.

"Any claims circulating suggesting that Travis did not have insurance for his 2017 performance at Terminal 5 are false," begins the statement. "Rumors that  Bowery Presents has filed a lawsuit against him on Oct. 18, 2018 are false. Bowery Presents is already a defendant in the pending lawsuit and, as part of its defense strategy in answering the complaint against it, seeks to divert blame for plaintiff’s injuries by blaming everyone but itself.”

According to The Blast's original report, which was published earlier today (Oct. 29), Bowery Presents alleges that Scott promised them that he'd take out an insurance policy for the concert but ultimately failed to do so. According to The Blast, the company that owns Terminal 5 (where the concert took place) says the Astroworld rapper should be responsible for paying the damages that would be paid to Kyle Green, the injured fan who sued both Scott and Bowery Presents last October.

This past August, Scott filed a countersuit against Bowery Presents. In the suit, Scott accuses Terminal 5's venue management (Bowery Presents) and the security venue's security team (Strike Force Protective Services) of recklessness.

In the incident that started this entire legal saga, Green suffered a fractured vertebrae, broken left wrist and fractured right ankle after allegedly being shoved off a balcony. He alleges that the rapper instructed fans to jump during his performance, and that it was that that led Green to being shoved over a balcony by Scott’s fans.

Reps for Travis Scott say that he did, in fact, have insurance for the show, and that he has not been sued for his role in the show this month.
