Logic has created a captivating rap alter ego with Young Sinatra. He continues that narrative series with YSIV (which stands for Young Sinatra 4), picking up where his 2013 mixtape Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever leaves off. And while the new project dropped on the same date as Lil Wayne's much-anticipated Tha Carter V, the Maryland MC is shining in his own right.

Logic has garnered some hefty momentum over the past 18 months, thanks to last summer's critically and commercially successful Everybody album, his cutthroat Bobby Tarantino 2 mixtape and its coinciding sold-out tour. All paths predict a successful first week in both sales and reception for YSIV.

On previous projects, Logic was finding his footing as an MC, often rapping himself in circles or stumbling when creating a proper hit rap record. Recently though, his prowess as a songwriter and rapper has improved exponentially, to the point where crafting well-oiled deep cuts, hits and posse tracks have become second nature. He's even dabbled with a modest amount of singing, which has helped to tie his softer songs together charmingly.

With his rapid-fire flow, Logic gets off some standout bars on YSIV. From scrappy 16s to long-winded stanzas, Logic proves he can rap with the best of 'em—see his collaboration with Wu-Tang Clan, "Wu-Tang Forever," for proof. "Fuck a mumble rap, that shit won't never be remembered," he raps on that song, distinguishing himself from his rap contemporaries.
