Update:

After a nearly two-week absence, J. Cole's debut album has returned to streaming services. The re-arrival was announced by Dreamville president Ibrahim "Ib" Hamad on Saturday (Oct. 13) who tweeted, "Back by popular demand, it’s a long story why it got taken down but just know it’s back. Enjoy."

Original Story:

Those hoping to stream J. Cole's debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story were unpleasantly surprised to learn today that the project has been pulled from major streaming services including Spotify and Apple Music.

The reason for the removal is not known at the moment, but Twitter users first began to notice the album was missing on Sept. 28, just one day after the LP's seven-year anniversary. Dreamville President Ibrahim "Ib" Hamad has apparently been receiving a hefty number of mentions on Twitter from people inquiring about the whereabouts of the LP. On Tuesday (Oct. 2), he responded to the abundance of requests by saying the album would be back up soon. "To everyone tweeting me about sideline story, I’m aware of what happen and we will get it back up soon," he tweeted. "You can stop tweeting me now."

As of press time, the album is still not on Apple Music or Spotify, though physical copies are still available at online retailers. XXL has reached out to reps for Spotify about the situation.

Cole has been a busy man lately. He is currently on the last leg of his K.O.D. Tour which has dates left in Montreal, Toronto, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Boston. He recently launched a non-profit Hurricane Florence relief fund to help those affected by the natural disaster in the Carolinas after he had to reschedule his planned Dreamville Festival until 2019. The showcase was supposed to take place on Sept. 15 but had to be pushed back due to the hurricane.
