Anderson .Paak honored his late friend and fellow artist Mac Miller at the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards with a beautiful eulogy.

"Legends never die," said Anderson, wearing a T-shirt adorned with the cover image from Mac's 2018 album, Swimming. "And Mac Miller not was, but is, a whole legend."

Anderson, who sings the hook on Mac Miller's soulful 2016 hit single "Dang!," spoke of Mac's many accomplishments in just 26 years of life, his influence on a generation of independent artists and his selfless nature, later plugging the Mac Miller Circles Fund, which the Pittsburgh rapper founded to provide resources for youth from underserved communities to explore the arts.

"Mac Miller was a humble rock star," Anderson continued. "He was a rapper's rapper, he was an actor, a comedian, a musical genius, a heartthrob. Mac Miller was a brother, he was my friend. I loved him and I still love him."

Mac Miller was found dead in his San Fernando Valley home in California last month (Sept. 7), the result of an apparent drug overdose. Fans and figures from the hip-hop community and beyond spoke out in light of his passing, many of whom publicly grieved on social media.

Anderson .Paak is slated to perform at a benefit concert celebrating Mac Miller on Oct. 31 at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre. The show, intended to raise money for the Mac Miller Circles Fund, will also include performances by Chance The Rapper, Action Bronson, Earl Sweatshirt, Travis Scott, J.I.D, Vince Staples, Ty Dolla $ign and more.
