Fans awaiting a new Kendrick Lamar album shouldn't hold their breath, according to a statement from Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith yesterday (Sept. 4).

The Top Dawg Entertainment CEO released a statement after Isaiah Rashad spoke on unreleased music Kendrick has in the stash. During one of Top Dawg's sessions on Instagram Live, the rapper went on record and said, "[ScHoolboy] Q finna drop. SZA’s hair green, so you know it’s finna be fire. You never know what’s going to happen." He then added "[Top Dawg] just played me a whole Dot album, damn near."

While that may be true, don't expect to hear it anytime soon. On Tuesday evening, the label founder revealed that "KDOT DONT HAVE A NEW ALBUM COMING NO TIME SOON," much to the dismay of his fans. "So keep playing DAMN until the kid is inspired again. #TDE," Tiffith added.

Though it may have not been the news most were expecting, fans still have the opportunity to catch Kendrick this year at festivals like Music Midtown in Atlanta, which he is slated to headline next week. Most recently, the Pulitzer Prize Award winner performed at Philly's annual Made in America Festival.

You can also check out his acting chops on a recent episode of Power, where he plays a rather believable homeless man. During his sit down with the show's creator, Courtney Kemp, Lamar shared his on-screen goals. "I think that's just the approach I learned to take with my music, to always have that open space to evolve," he revealed. "So, the same 100 percent I put into music, I want to put that on the screen as well."
