XXXTentacion has picked up another posthumous plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America. The slain rapper's debut album 17 was certified platinum last Thursday (Aug. 15).

The certification follows months of increased attention on X's catalog since he was shot and killed in an apparent robbery outside a motorsports dealership in Deerfield Beach, Fla. on June 18—an event that prompted tributes from fans and other artists.

The day after his death, his song "Sad!" broke what was then a single-day Spotify streaming record record held by Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do." The song also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 that week.

In the ensuing months, X's March album ? was certified gold, then platinum, and several of his singles ("Jocelyn Flores," "Moonlight" and "Love") also earned platinum status for moving at least 1,000,000 units.

Four individuals have been indicted by a Florida grand jury for their alleged roles in the rapper's death. All four cases are ongoing.
