Jermaine Dupri becomes the latest hip-hop artist to speak about his lifestyle as a vegan, and he's even teamed up with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to convince others to do the same.

In their new campaign titled "Feel the Beets and Lose the Meats," Dupri partners up with the animals rights organization to talk about both the health and ethical benefits of eating vegan—a diet which abstains from any animal byproducts whatsoever.

"I want the world to know the vegan lifestyle, to me, is the best lifestyle," Dupri says in an accompanying video. "I feel like anybody that has a problem with their energy level being right, tired all the time, you can definitely feel the difference. A vegan lifestyle puts you on that track to just be healthy."

Dupri isn't the first rapper to go vegan. Artists like RZA, Andre 3000 and Waka Flocka Flame have also shared their journey eating vegan.

It's been an undeniably huge year for Jermaine Dupri, who was recently inducted in to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He also recently announced his new compilation album Jermaine Dupri Presents ... 25 years of So So Def, for which he will soon head out on tour for joined by Da Brat, Bow Wow and more.
