6ix9ine's Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz assisted single, "Fefe," might be holding down a spot in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but there are still plenty of people who are against the rapper because of his sexual misconduct case. Some of those people apparently attend the University of Central Florida, where students are protesting the rapper's Sept. 22 concert on campus.

According to a report one of ABC's local news affiliates published yesterday (Aug. 28), UCF student Noemi Teutsch has launched a petition to prevent the controversial rapper form performing in the campus' CFE Arena. So far, the document has over 5,000 signatures.

"I just can't believe someone like this would be considered on a university campus to perform," Teutsch says of the matter.

From the outset of his career on the rap game's main stage, 6ix9ine has been dealing with some serious legal trouble. In 2015, video of the rapper touching a 13-year-old girl in a sexual manner made its way onto the internet. At the time, Tekashi was 18, and that same year, he pleaded guilty to the use of a child in a sexual performance.

While 6ix9ine has faced a steady stream of criticism, the rapper has still managed to become a star. Now, as his songs continue to grow in popularity, he's occasionally being booked at places like UCF.

For their part, UCF reps say they'll allow the performance just so long as it doesn't bring any harm to the student body.

"Outside performers can rent the space. However, that does not mean that the university endorses them. At all times, the safety of our campus is our top priority," reads a statement from UCF officials.

It's unclear how Teutsch's protest will unfold, but there's a chance that jail time could prevent 6ix9ine performing anywhere at all. A few weeks ago, the Manhattan's District Attorney's Office recommended that Tekashi register as a sex offender and get sentenced to one to three years in prison. He is due back in court on Oct. 2.
