Tyga is a certified hitmaker who's showing no signs of going away anytime soon. The rapper's latest evidence of that is "Taste," a ubiquitous summer-friendly tune that the Recording Institute of America (RIAA) has just granted platinum status.

According to the website, "Taste," which was officially released on May 16, reached gold status on July 10. The record earned its platinum status just two weeks later, on July 24. Needless to say, that's pretty impressive stuff.

If you've been to any function this summer, or even paid any attention to social media, the success of "Taste" comes as no surprise. With a hardbody but lowkey beat, catchy hook and T-Raww vocals that slide into just the right pocket, the track is definitely a banger. It also doesn't hurt that women have been posting videos of themselves twerking to the song all over social media.

Tyga's new certification coincides with his track's presence in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. As of today, the song lives right at the bottom of that particular part of the chart, checking in at No. 10. With a video that has over 155 million YouTube views, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the track end up in a considerably higher slot very soon. Salute to T-Raww.
