Kyle's feature acting debut is coming soon. Netflix announced today (July 23) that The After Party, starring the "iSpy" artist as an aspiring rapper, will be available to stream on Aug. 24.

The movie is reportedly the brainchild of late WorldStar Hip Hop founder, Lee “Q” O’Denat, whose company helped produce the project. Ian Edelman, creator of the Kid Cud-starring HBO series How to Make It in America, wrote and directed the film.

Netflix describes the synopsis as follows: "When an aspiring rapper goes viral for all the wrong reasons, he thinks his career is over. But when his best friend gets them into a wild NYC after party, he gets one more chance to make the impossible happen."

The cast includes G.O.O.D. Music's Teyana Taylor, fresh off the release of her Kanye West-produced album K.T.S.E. The film also features cameos by Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, DJ Khaled, Ski Mask The Slump God, Desiigner, Pusha-T, Jadakiss, Tee Grizzley, Young M.A and more.

Off screen, Kyle dropped his debut album Light of Mine in May. He spoke to XXL about the project a few days after its release, explaining that the title refers to his struggles navigating the music industry.

"You start making music at a young age and, for me, I just thought like, 'Ahh, once you make it, all your problems will be solved, and everything will be fine,'" he said. "I learned in a very real way that that was not the case."
