With one sentence, Freddie Gibbs might have changed fans' minds about how quickly they want his highly-anticipated new album, Bandana, with producer Madlib.

On Thursday (July 19) Tidal aired a snippet of the rapper's new interview on the Rap Radar Podcast where the Gary Gangsta brings up the album that has fans waiting with bated breath. "I'm done with, you know, that Madlib album, so I just been sitting on that," he revealed, saying he is in no rush to put it out. "I mean I got money. I don't gotta put it out yet. I'm straight, I'm good. I could put it out when it's time to put it out, but that's the beauty of this," he added.

As his reason for the LP not being released despite being done he noted, "I just wasn't ready yet. I wanted to do something else first. I was like, 'Man, I wanna do this first. I don't wanna put [Bandana] out yet.' 'Cause I feel like, I don't know, that might be my last project."

That would be a hard pill to swallow for hardcore fans of the Midwest MC who recently put out his latest release, Freddie, in June. Gibbs and Malib linked up on the critically-acclaimed Pinata album in 2014. Two years later, they announced the sequel. Last year, Freddie gave an update on the project saying it was in the mixing process.

Gibbs hasn't had the same flair for the rap game as he did before he was acquitted of sexual assault charges in 2016, but he is definitely one of the last rappers fans of gangsta rap want to hear might be hanging up the mic sometime soon.
