Washington, D.C. has always produced one-of-a-kind rap music, influenced by their somewhat off the beaten path location and strong cultural ties to the past. Chaz French spent his formative years in Northeast D.C., growing into a lyrically deft rapper who is also skilled at putting songs together. His latest work is "Can't Stop Us," a song featured in a trailer for the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.

The track is meant to motivate, with Chaz rapping about winning against all odds.
"But you can't put a price on peace of mind/Said we on the move, we gotta stay in line," the hook starts off. He later raises his voice to deliver the last two lines of it: "We on the top, who gon' stop us now?/I said we comin' for the top, who gon' stop us now?"

Success brings new issues and Chaz isn't blind to that fact. "I said I'm back like i never left/More problems come with bigger checks," is both self-affirming and a not so humble brag. After that, Chaz is just flexing: "She don't speak no hable ingles/So if she wanna see, I just tell her, 'Yes.'"

Chaz was a featured artist on Baltimore rapper Tate Kobang's late 2017 project. Tate Ko. He also dropped a project of his own last November, Kill Vol. 1: A DMV Original, where he collaborated with other artists from the area, with a video for his Shy Glizzy-assisted song "Hol' Up" releasing just before.
