UPDATE:

The Associated Press has confirmed that 6ix9ine told police that he was robbed after being pulled from a car by two gunmen earlier this morning. 6ix9ine's report on this notably differs quite a bit from TMZ's.

According to the NYPD, the rapper says he was forced out of a car by two gunmen who then put him in their car and drove to his house. Once there, 6ix9ine called someone inside of the house and had them bring the robbers some of his cash and jewelry. The value of said belongings wasn't specified, and it is also unclear how he ended up sustaining the facial injuries shown in TMZ's photo.

6ix9ine reportedly refused to cooperate with authorities after filing his report.

ORIGINAL STORY:

6ix9ine gets hospitalized. Earlier today (July 22), TMZ reported that the rapper was put into a hospital after being attacked and robbed after a music video shoot in Brooklyn.

According to the celebrity news site, 6ix9ine had just finished some filming for a music video in BK when he made moves to return to home at around 4 a.m. Upon arriving at his spot, three assailants approached the rapper before pistol-whipping him and leaving him unconscious.

After making their initial attack on the "Gummo" rapper, the robbers proceeded to put Tekashi in the back of a car before asking him to give them his belongings. After driving around for a bit, the perpetrators made their way back to the rapper's home, where they supposedly had an occupant bring them money and jewelry from 6ix9ine's house.

In the end, the gunmen reportedly made off with $750,000 worth of jewelry and between $15,000 and $20,000 worth of cash.

After robbing 6ix9ine's spot, the three alleged culprits reportedly drove off while the rapper was still in their car. After some time, Tekashi, who's just linked up with Nicki Minaj for a new collaboration, managed to escape the car and ask a stranger for help. It was at that point that the driver called 911 and told Tekashi to leave their car. Afterwards, 6ix9ine was taken to a hospital, where doctors performed a series of tests on the rapper.

This attack on 6ix9ine is the latest in what's been a stream of attacks on rappers. On June 15, Rich The Kid was hospitalized after being beaten and robbed in his girlfriend Tori Brixx's Los Angeles house. Three days later, on June 18, XXXTentacion and Jimmy Wopo were shot and killed. X was reportedly robbed before his death.

XXL has reached out to 6ix9ine's attorney for comment, and he says that because he's still learning about the situation, he's unable to comment on the matter. Stay tuned for more updates.
